The Mendocino Music Festival is a magical blend of fine music by outstanding performers in one of the most enchanting sites in Northern California. Evenings include breathtaking concerts featuring the glorious Festival Orchestra, the popular Big Band concert featuring guest singers, chamber music ensembles, dance, blues, jazz, world, folk, and popular contemporary music. Days include lecture/recitals at the Piano Series, a children's matinee and Petting Zoo, performances from the young, outstanding emerging artists, and chamber concerts at beautiful, intimate venues throughout Mendocino Village and Fort Bragg.

Many of the professional musicians performing at the festival are part of the “Freeway Philharmonic” crowd. They travel the Highway 101 corridor between gigs at Symphony of the Redwoods, Santa Rosa Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, SF Ballet, and San Francisco Opera.

The Mendocino Music Festival continues to maintain its commitment to bringing the highest quality classical and contemporary music and musicians to a place founder, Conductor and Artistic Director Allan Pollack has described as ". . . one of the most picturesque towns in the world."

Every year mid-July, we build a concert hall Performance Tent, all 16,000 square feet of it that can house a full symphony, from the ground up at the Mendocino Headlands State Park. This Symphony-sized tent, seating more than 840 music lovers, is adjacent to Ford House Museum Visitor Center and across Main Street from the Kelley House Museum where Taste of Chocolate, Wine & Ale is held in the spring.  We have established a year round presence in the town of Mendocino with our office in the Old Bank Building on the corner of Main and Kasten Streets. We also fundraise year-round with concerts, dinner parties, and events.  Our national and international reputation as a respected summer music festival has helped give the town of Mendocino a cultural identity.  We work to build strong economic ties with the business community and individual donors.  We have developed a large volunteer network of over 200 people that help out at the festival and at our year-round events.  MMF is a member of the Mendocino Coast Cahmber of Commerce, Mendocino Arts Showcase, and Arts Council of Mendocino County. We are charter members in the Mendocino Coast Performance Art Production Alliance (PAPA) where we share storage space, set pieces, costumes, tools, and technical expertise with other local performing arts non-profit organizations including Mendocino Theatre Company, Gloriana Musical Theatre, and Mendocino Opera Fresca.

In addition to music our tourists, visitors, travelers, RV’ers, camping enthusiasts, and the locals enjoy going outdoors hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, Big River Interpretive Walks, staring up at the redwoods, sauntering on the beach, visiting Kwan Tai Temple and other spots on the National Register of Historic Places, riding the Skunk Train, relaxing by a waterfall, meandering through the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, the water towers, fine art and photography galleries, viewing whales from Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, whale-watching from party boats, sipping County Wines - many are becoming more organic and practicing green sustainable farming, and dining in our restaurants-some of which are world-renowned using creative Executive Chefs including: Café Beaujolais, Little River Inn, Stanford Inn by the Seas (Ravens Restaurant for vegetarian and vegan delights), MacCallum House Inn’s Restaurant and Grey Whale Bar & Cafe, Mendocino Hotel, 955 Ukiah Street, Patterson’s Pub, Moosse Café, Bay View Café, The Bistro, The Rendezvous, The Restaurant, Mendo Burgers, Frankie’s Ice Cream & Pizza Parlor, Lu’s Kitchen, Silver’s at The Wharf in Noyo Harbor, Harvest Market, Mendocino Bakery
