History and Education at the

Berkeley earning two Masters
of Arts degrees. She worked as
a teacher in public schools
for many years and taught

lifetime of interest in art,
she began painting watercolors
in 1998. She has studied with
some noted artists, including
Betty Saarni, Nancy Collins,
and Patricia Osborne. She

various special shows. She has
won several awards from
California Watercolor
Association shows and from
members juried shows at the
Mendocino Art Center. She says
of her work," I love the
medium of water color and the
freedom it affords. I am
mainly interested in design,
color, and line. I also try to
capture my emotional reaction
to whatever I am painting. I
am not a realistic painter."
She paints mainly florals and
landscapes inspired by the
beautiful gardens and scenery
here on the Mendocino Coast.
Currently she is the
Exhibition Chair at the
Mendocino Art Center, and her
work may be seen at the
Mendocino Art Center, the
Edgewater Gallery in Fort
Bragg, the Prentice Gallery in
Fort Bragg, and the Artists'
Co-op of Mendocino. One of her
paintings was selected to be a
featured painting in the 2003
Mendocino Rotary Raffle. She
has had paintings selected to
be the featured painting for a
number of local events such as
the 2004 Mendocino Art Center
garden tour and the 2005
Kelley House "Art from the
Heart" art auction.
